Do you have a relaxer????? I'm a 3c/4a, but I don't have a relaxer anymore and my hair curls fine. Its not as loose as girls with the 3a/3b curl patterns and its not long yet because I just cut, but it works. You should love what you have, girl. There's many things you can try. You can do bantu knots like KC said, you can do braid outs, twist outs, twist and curls, the options are limitless!! Its all about finding what works best for you and finding the right products!!!
i think your hair is beautiful!!!! i have what u called bi-racial [mom's Haitian/dads Dominican and 1/4 Haitian] hair [somewhat] and its extremely hard to manage...yes in the end you get the desired wet-wavy look but it takes time and effort to get it there...
I used to do my sister's hair like this and when finished hair school they had actually added it to the list of services...Wet Look: shampoo ur hair and leave it wet, put mousse thru ur wet hair and twist your hair back like you would if you were getting corn rows or even corn row it if you want the crinkly look (maybe have a friend do that, arms get tired lol), it doesnt have to be neat but make sure u twist or braid really tight...let it dry and then unravel it'll look curly :) n jux reapply mousse or wrap lotion to keep it moist
thanks everyone for the advice and listening to me vent...I am getting a sew in today...I cant deal with in for Miami tomorrow...but bantu curls is my next option when I take it out

You should use IC Hair Polisher Pomade. I have natural hair and it makes my hair really shiny so on your hair it would give you the wet look.
But for the beach I would get braids so you don't have to worry about it.
I was thinking about the banku knots...I seen that last night but I really think I am gonna break down and get some weave...lol
Oh and I love what God gave me but I do get frustrated...forreal...

Now I feel silly about askin' you about a relaxer when you said you haven't had one in four years.
Frustration is something that we as women go through, you're not alone! Good luck with coming up with something!
